Attritor Stirred Ball Mill
Description:
Grinding machine or stirring ball mill is a simple and effective method for quickly and effectively grinding and dispersing small and uniform materials. Attritor can be operated by wet or dry grinding, introducing an inert atmosphere, operating at a controlled temperature, and can change the grinding speed, medium type, and size. The results are reproducible from one grinding batch to another, making this grinder an ideal choice for formulation, quality control, pilot plant, and scale studies. The material and medium are stirred by a shaft that rotates the arm at high speed, which causes the medium to exert shear and impact forces on the material, resulting in extremely fine materials expressed in micrometers or fractions of micrometers. A laboratory scale grinder is much faster than a traditional grinder. This unit uses carbon steel, stainless steel, chromium steel, tungsten carbide, and ceramic balls as grinding media. No need for pre mixing, and ingredients can be added at any time during the grinding process.
Common applications include chemicals, ferrites, metal oxides, minerals and coal, as well as reaction and mechanochemical grinding.
Attritor is designed for media ranging from 1/8 inch to 3/8 inch and operates at RPMs of 100 to 500, all of which have the following functions:
- Variable shaft speed
- The height of the mixing shaft can be adjusted to accommodate grinding media of different sizes.
- The bottom discharge grid is equipped with a valve for easy sampling and discharge.
- The storage tank slides forward and tilts at a 90 degree angle to discharge the medium and quickly clean.
- Jacket cooling (or heating)
- Quickly disconnect the cooling water connection.
- VFD - Variable Speed Drive System.
